CloudsCreditRepair™ FAQ

What is a UCC filing?

A Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) filing is a public notice that a lender has a security interest in specific business assets pledged as collateral.

Explanation

UCC-1 filings are recorded at the state level and appear on business credit reports. A blanket UCC covers all business assets; a specific UCC covers named collateral.

Active blanket UCCs from prior lenders can block future financing because new lenders cannot take a first-position security interest.

Examples
  • UCC-1 = initial financing statement
  • UCC-3 = amendment, continuation, or termination
  • Blanket UCC vs. specific UCC
